      Why should I use a health and safety consultant?

      Under Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, employers are required to appoint ‘one or more competent persons’ to assist in meeting the legal requirements of safety law. If you do not have suitably competent or qualified people among your staff then a consultant can offer you the support and advice you require to ensure compliance with the law.

      No. Health and Safety has a bad name, but it is essential that you as an employer look after your people, your visitors, your customers and anyone else who may be affected by what you do. Health and safety legislation is not designed to prevent you from doing anything, just to ensure that anything you do is as safe as it possibly can be. A well-built management system will ensure that health and safety will not get in the way of your operations. Companies with a sound health and safety culture have happier people and perform better than those without.
